ML Newbie - First Post

Greetings All-

Been reading this site for a while in preparation for the arrival of my 2006 ML 350. I picked it up last Friday from the dealership. Capri blue with macadamia leather interior, heated front seats, 18" wheels, lighting, entertainment, air suspension, sunroof and premium packages. It's AWESOME! The dealership (Mercedes Benz of Alexandria (VA)) was terrific to work with, even let me use a loaner as my new car wouldn't be ready before my previous lease expired. Would highly recommend them. I've only put 300 miles on the car so far but it has performed flawlessly. I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the iPod adapter but burning MP3 CDs should satisfy the need for my music in the interim. I've read a lot about the tires which came with the car (Continental 4X4 Contact) and they haven't had very good ratings, averaging only 15-20K miles before replacement. Anyone have any personal experience with these tires?

Looking forward to participating in this great forum.

Hopefully this will also include a photo or two of the new beauty.

Welcome.

Although I've been following the W164 since inception, none of us have had ours for too long, so we're all still learning. Feel free to contribute or ask questions.

Re the Continental 4X4 Contacts. I have them on my 02 and have since new. Have 35000 miles on them and find them excellent, quiet and very good in snow. At this point I have about 40 percent tread remaining and expect they will deliver maybe 50000 miles before requiring replacement. However this vehicle will go away in about 2 weeks to make room for my new W164 ML500.

Very nice car, and I like those rims!

Can you take some pics of the interior?

Thank you and congrats!

If the weather holds out this weekend, I'll take a series of interior pics and post to the site. Interestingly, I tried to attach a 600x800 interior picture last night (the size limit is 800x600) and the system rejected my picture. I'll try again with correctly framed pictures to avoid this quirk.
