Battery question
Does any W164 owner know if their ML has 2 batteries like my 05 Eclass, one main and one for the electronics?? I have heard it does and it does not. Which is correct??

It's also in the battery compartment under the right front seat, Greg, under the cover plate shown below. The heavier #1 battery is inboard, and the small #2 battery outboard of it.

The R, ML, & GL all have 1 main battery and 1 12V 1.2Ah auxiliary battery located near the main one. It's just for the ISM as mentioned above, but not for getting it out of Park. It's for firing the transmission into Park in the event of a main electrical system failure / flat battery. It's deemed more important that the vehicle can be left restrained.
