Wipers

Yesterday was the first heavy rain here in Northern CA. I couldn't help but noticed the wipers are too loud. It sounded like they are ready to be replaced. I realize they are new but the driver side makes a squeaking sound when it gets to the end of the cycle. I guess I expected better quality from a MB part. In addition, I wish there was a way to override the rain sensor. I don't like the intermittent wiping. Sometimes it wipes even if there is not much rain on the windshield. I prefer the manual controlled intermittent wiping (IMO). Any comments?

Mine are whisper quiet. As so far as the rain sensor is concerned you can do a manual intermittent by leaving the wipers off and when you want them just tap on the washer tap enough to start them or, turn them on and then off.

if u dont have rain sensor as an option like me, im sure there is no adjustment on the stalk just a factory set timming, unless i haveent found it yet.

Even more annoying when u would even get a adjustable timing option on a £6000 car

When doing a manual wipe, I simply push the combination switch in and it will wipe one time without washer fluid. I use the tab on the combination switch for the rear wiper. But that's what the rain sensor is for, so you don't have to wipe manually. The wiping interval is dependent upon the wetness of the windshield. I think mine is too sensitive. The blades will wear out faster if I keep it on intermittent when it's drizzeling.

My right wiper was doing the same thing, a loud squeak at the end of the cycle. It was adjusted at the dealer and that seems to have fixed the problem.

Use a vinegar soaked rag and wipe your wipers with it,

Let me know the results

Thanks for all the response. In my case, I cleaned the windshield thoroughly and the noise and shakiness of the wipers went away. I guess I wont be using the car duster on the windshield anymore. I still think my rain sensor is too sensitive. I will talk to my SA about this.

If you used like a California Duster, they are impregnated with a wax that holds the dust. Probably that got on the windshield.
