valve body replacement question
I am trying to get MB to replace the valve body and hopefully remedy the transmission issues I've been having. My question is whether or not the valve body will have an error code or not if it should be replaced? My dealer doesn't want to touch anything unless the car tells them to.

How can you be sure its the valve body causing a problem?? Do you have the necessary skills and equipment to properly diagnose a problem. My suggestion is to go along with the dealer's plan or, if you are unhappy with that after giving him a chance go to another dealer.

I am the most skillful benz technician on the planet and I personally own every piece of diagnostic equipment available so I am 1000% percent sure that the valve body is faulty. **** obviously I am basing my guess on what is wrong by others successful replacement of the valve body. Thanks for the advice...do what the dealer suggests. I've given my car to the dealer about 4 times and nothing can be found though it drives like a go-kart some times.

From what I have seen here the problem is usually the software, requiring an update. I have never experienced any of these symptoms.

Version number?
Is there a way I can guide my service rep with the correct software version. My ML500 was made in April I belive and since they do not let me in their shop, I would like to tell him thar it should have version number so and so and confirm he is installing the correct one.
