I don't have this problem with mine. Did they remove the pads? If so, it should go back on. When I was down there, I asked Brabus if they use the stock pads. They said no, they use the ones that comes with their springs. Make sure you have the correct pads on. Sounds like the shop you went to made some installation mistake. Any amount of lubrication will not work. That's why I had Brabus install mine. I didn't trust the local shop here since it is their first install. If all else fails, call Brabus.

p.s. Have the alignment checked.

1100 miles since the Brabus springs were installed, no issues or problems.

do the Brabus springs throw out the alignment of the ML to the point where a new alignment can't fix it?

Based on my experience, the alignment cannot go back to stock specs due to the lowered height. At least that's what the local MB dealer here tells me. Brabus said alignment is not necessary. Toe is not an issue as my dealer was able to set it dead center. My camber settings are outside the stock range but pretty close. I don't think there is anyone in this forum that have had their Brabus springs for a while to tell us how it affects tire wear. As I said, only time will tell. Other than that, it drives straight as an arrow.

I also think it's an installation mistake.

Now concerning the possible long term problems we could face, the only one that seems sensible to me is an overstress of the dampers which will lead to an early damper replacement.

No probelemd yet and I have already put about 500 miles on the springs. I had my brabus springs installed by a brabus technition on my new ML350 at CEC, in west LA. I asked them about allignment issues and they said it doesn't need alignment because of the electronic steering, please correct me if I am wrong. I didn't feel a need for a alignment and also check out their site.

Well that's exactly what Brabus told me, that it didn't need an alignment. I drove it out of their shop in Newport Beach, CA and it drove straight. The only thing I noticed, the steering wheel was slightly off to the left but acceptible. When I brought it to my dealer, they set toe to dead center. This means toe was off. Now when I look at my steering wheel, it is perfectly straight. As for camber, they were able to adjust it closer to spec range. But they could not set it within the range. Nothing can be done about this unless the height is raised. It was definitely worth the $160 I paid. At least I know it is set to the best possible setting. So far, no uneven wear on the inside of the tires.

H&r

Just had H&R springs put on ML500. Lowered rear 2" and fron 1.25". Had alignment done but not by MB dealer. My steering wheel was also slightly off center. Their printout shows it needed adjustments mostly for front toe. The other areas were adjusted but were not far off.

My only concern is I don't know if the "before" specs are really accurate since this was not done at a MB dealer. Can someone list the specs? thx, joe
