Comand Asp DVD europe disk in a brand new ML350 - W164
January 10th, 2006 from continental europe ( Spain )
I just received my new ML350-W164, & referring to my DVD Command APS disk version 4.0 included, I would like to understand why this old software, as this edition was edited on 16 07 2004!
I know that a following edition version 4.1 was edited on 28 10 2004, and a following version 5.0 has been edited on november 2005.
Is there any serious reason I get in Europe such an old version in a 48 hours old car ? ( Jan.3rd 2006).
I have some serious doubts that MB agent in barcelona- spain could not solve, so I would appreciate Forum opinions.
MB dealer in Barcelona says that 4.0 version, is the only version usable in a W164 ML !!!!

Sorry, that's the way it is - the 4.0 is the latest version for W164. And it's far from perfect. Here in Luxembourg, whole "barrios comerciales" are missing - and not things that have sprung up since 2004.
Well - in one case the explanation may be that there are dealerships for such undesirable brands as Cadillac, Volvo, and Lexus situated, and of course a true-blooded Mercedes driver wouldn't want to be seen near any of these temples of .... - sin .....

Nice to meet you Birger, I just had a look to my DVD v.4.0 box, and papers enclosed, finding the licence to use it that confirms MB part number B6 782 3386, but more interesting saying that my DVD is compatible with A Klasse since 09/2004+C klasse since 04/2004+CLK Klasse since 06/2004 and Smart ForFour !!!!!
So, I wonder what DVD version are delivered to to-day´s cars of these models, have you any chance to check it ? Because they could be used by us too.
