Aux input Static!! help!!
Hi,
I use harman kardon Drive + Play in my ml and some times I hear a static in the speakers..I remember reading about a grounding line to remove the static?? or maybe it has something to do with te connection cable touching metal??

if its constant static....you need a good ground loop isolator....radio shack has them , it fixed mine. but if it is intermitant then your problem is probably the connection.....so check your 3.5 mm plug, i suspect that. you could purchase an extension cable that is female to male to shoe up the connection. btw how do you like the drive + play i am debating whether to go w/it or the factory intergration>

Static on all COMAND functions
On my ML500 HK COMAND system I get bad static from time to time regardless of the input source (CD, radio etc). It sounds like a continuous loud crackling. The problem occurs on average once or twice a week.
The only way to make it go away is to "reboot" the car by turning it off and on again after about 20 secs.
I took it back to the dealer, but whatever they did didn't work. (They say the COMAND system had not be programmed for Australia. It was still on US settings. Makes you wonder what else hasn't been configured correctly.)
