Smile Ml420cdi

I went to Mercedes Benz Germany (website) and checked the ML product line and I saw that the ML420CDI is being offered. Nothing big really but how come MBUSA won't ship it over to the US.

Well there are several reasons for MBUSA not bringing it over. For on the V8 likely isn't clean enough to pass smog regs here. Secodly, I doubt there would be enough demand for diesels for them to bring over both the V6 and V8 version. Too many models not enough return on that. I don't think we'll ever see a V8 diesel in the U.S. from Mercedes again. There there is the issue of cost. A ML420 CDI would be a costly beast!

well, you do have a point. smog alone well I guess wouldn't pass the test in US and you're right, V8 diesel is expensive maybe if ever it comes out, it'll be like the price near the ML63

ML 320 CDi
Hi,

Looking at German MB website 'basic' 420CDi is 33% dearer than 'basic' 320CDi.

Cheers,

Rumor is the diesel will be available for late 07 or 08. Saw a brochure at the dealer.
