Commander Crackling Sound
Today when I turned the car on (I have a ML-500 with the HK sound system) everything (CD and radio) had a bad crackling sound in it. (A bit like torn speakers.) Turning the Commander on and off did nothing to fix the problem.
After speaking with the dealer, they suggested turning the car on and off.
This fixed the problem.
1. Has anybody had this problem and found a real fix?
2. Does anybody else think this is not acceptable for a bloody expensive car?
Whilst I'm on the topic. The Commander frequently doesn't work the way the manual says. It says when you switch from CDC to Radio it goes to the last station you were listening to.
Well it does sometimes, but more frequently it goes to FM (when the only station I listen to is an AM or MW station). This means to switch from CDC to my AM station requires several button presses to navigate through the menus to go from CDC to Radio(FM) then Radio FM to Radio MW. (A safety issue and a pain in the butt.)
But it doesn't happen all the time.
Are there any ideas from the forum? (Apart from buy a Lexus.)
