dealer don't give me ipod

I just picked up my ML320cdi on 05/07/06. The car is great. And now I know Mercedes is running a promotion which including 30Gb iPod and connection to the car, 4 luggage bags tailor-made with roof pod.
But dealer said I ordered my car on 19/06 and promotion start on 26/06. Even my car registered on 28th.
Do anyone has any suggest?
Contact Mercedes Australia?
Or Mercedes in German?

I would contact the appropriate MB office and tell them that the promotion is why you purchased the vehicle and now the dealer refuses to provide the items. They may or may not authorize it. At lease this will give you a shot at getting the items.

I would straight out ask the sales advisor if he knew of the promotion and if so, contact MB in Au to complain (saying that you wouldn't have signed on the day you did had you known about the upcoming promotion).

If he didn't know (and one would expect some honesty there...), I would say you haven't got much hope as the deal would normally rely on the sales date and not the delivery date. Would you otherwise have be happy to pay a price rise that was announced after you had signed up a order ? You can't win both ways...

Just my 2c.

The ipod is a factory bonus, not from dealer.
The dealer said it all base on contract date signed.
I did a purchase order on 28th even I signed contract on 19th June. The promotion started 26th.

I don't use ipod, but I don't feel happy.

Yes, I know the deal is from Mercedes directly and not the dealer.

I wouldn't feel happy about the situation if the dealer had known about the upcoming promotion and not told you. If they (dealer and salesman) didn't know about it on the 19th then you haven't a leg to stand on. If they did I would take it up with MB directly.

You may feel somewhat ripped off but do you think you would have been happy to pay more if MB had increased prices and not made the special "Pod" promotion on the 26th instead ? MB have to make a cutoff sometime.

In many cases (I know in the case of other manufacturers), the dealers have to contribute towards the costs of promotions like these so that may be why they won't assist in this case - your deal would not have taken into account a provision the dealer may need to make towards the "Pod" costs...
