2006 ml350 rear license plate light

2006 ml350 rear license plate light
Anyone know how to replace the chrome light assembly above the rear license plate? I let the liftgate goes and hit the garage door hardware, made a dent on it.The new part came, 2 screws can be removed from outside, but the other two have to be accessed from behind the plastic liftgate cover.How can I remove the cover? Please help.
