ML320 CDI break-in procedure question...

What is the recommended break-in procedure for these? I know the owner's manual says to vary engine speed for the first 1000 miles, but it seems too simple to cover all diesel and gas engines in this manner. Does anyone with more diesel experience have suggestions?

I had a Diesel Peugeot back in the days and all I did at the time was keep the RPMs low for the first 3000-4000 km, and change the oil in the first 1000 km. I think the oil change (or lack thereof) is cruicial.
Medici, MB today announced that they don't have a clue as to how you got a car with AMG and Parktronic. I am fighting with them but don't have much time since I am scheduled for Nov 3 production. Would you mind PM me you VIN so I can light up the fire under MBUSA's @ss? This would greatly increase my chance of solving the puzzle and would be much appreciated...I am getting increasingly frustrated with these guys.
