17" wheels fit ML350 w/appearance pkg?

Hey folks. I've got a 2006 ML350 with the appearance package, which has 19" wheels. Does anyone know if the factory 7-spoke 17" wheels will fit this w/no problem?

I can't find any info saying the AppPkg changed anything but the wheels (i.e., no changes to the brakes).

I need snow tires, and Pirelli Scropion Ice&snow in 19" size only have 10/32" tread depth, whereas the 17" have 14/32" depth. If the factory 17" wheels will fit, then I think should get much better snow traction with the 235/65/17 14/32" snows rather than the 255/50/19 10/32" 19" tires.

Thanks for any assistance

2006 ML 350
When in doubt, ask your MB tech, but to my knowledge, there is no problem mounting 17" wheels and tires. I would suggest www.tirerack.com for winter tire wheel packages. Very good quality & service. I personally run 225/55-18" Bridgstone Blizzak LM22's on my '06 ML 350, and am very happy with them.

From 2006 ML 320 CDI - from 2009 Audi Q5 S-Line 3.0 TDI DSG - from 2011 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE
Of course you can!

My ML 320 CDI has appearance pkg and 17'' wheels, and everything is fine. Important is to not make mistakes with the tire measures. Follow the manual instructions that are included in your car, where you can see many sizes of wheels used in the ML with the correspondent tire size.

Have a great winter time.........

I'm running the 19" Ice & Snows, but you're correct that taller profiles and of course deeper tread are best for winter tires. Should fit fine as brakes are no different.

Thanks for the answers folks.

My local dealer says they wont fit because of the calipers. I called the 800-4-mb and they said they would fit, but I was not too confident they knew what they were talking about because of the questions they asked.

But, I had enough real folks saying they would fit that I went ahead and ordered the 17" 7-spoke wheels. Take offs from a new 06 ML350. I think I got a good price: $295 + $80 shipping + tax, came to $400.44 total for all 4 wheels (no tires).

That's a very good buy--where did you find them? Often the dealer is the least informed, unless you talk to the right technical people. The calipers are no different on any of the 350 models no matter what packages you have. And it's usually the rotor size that's the issue, because they may get larger but calipers don't vary as much. ML350/320CDI = 13.0"F/13.0"R rotors; ML 500 = 13.8"F/13.0"R; ML63 = 15.4"F/14.4"R! No way you'l get 17" wheels on a 63.

They are a wheel store named AutoKicks in Ronkonkoma, Long Island NY.

I bought the wheels from their Ebay store:
http://myworld.ebay.com/ebaymotors/justires/

Their web site: www.autokicks.com

They seemed nice to deal with, answered my e-mails. I bought them last night, they e-mailed me and said they should ship today and I should receive them Friday or Monday.

They have lots of wheels that are not on ebay, so for those wanting wheels it is worth checking out as they seem to have great prices.
