Congrats !
How did you buy the car, from local dealer or from out of state dealer ?
How about emissions, I quess the car passes the tests as you have it now in California ?
I tried to buy one from several California dealers, all said it's not possible.
Then I contacted MBUSA and asked that can I buy the car from out of state dealer and would it pass emission test. Had several emails with them but conclusions was that it will not pass the emission test, even though Touareg V10 TDI passes it.

I bought the car by writing the out of state dealer a check. And no the car does not meet Calif emmisions. But that does not mean you cant drive it here.. It says that it cant be registered here not driven here. Here is the link for the post with pictures https://mbworld.org/forums/m-class-w164/175863-pictures-cdi-mothership.html

Ok thanks !
That was something that I was also considering but didn't want to go that way, so I bought ML350 here.
Anyway, the CDI is fantastic engine, I've driven it couple of times in Europe.
Enjoy it, I'm sure you do

According to DMW of CA (http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/brochures...cts/ffvr29.htm) you can register a car that doesn't neet the emission standards as long as it has been driven at least 7500 miles at the time of purchase.
But, I would still search for possible updated information.
When I moved from TX to CA, I noticed that the DMW of CA tax calculator ath the web site is outdated. It calculates the taxes so that you don't have to pay taxes if you have owned the car for 90 days or more, but the law has changed 2004 and you have to have owned the car for a year to not to pay extra taxes (TX has lower taxes than CA). At the DMW they were helpful and found the correct information and showed it to me.
So, in that sence I would not rely on the information provided at the web site but would look for up to date information either from DMW or from CA law books.
