The new x5 is already on the market in the US .Are there already tests avaible to compare both models ?

i checked out the new X5, and to be honest was a bit disappointed. it was very drab looking in the Space Gray color i saw, particularly with the overdose of black trim found all over the car. the black trim along the entire bottom of the car is a bit much too. i also thought some of the interior trim pieces weren't quite up to par for such a pricey vehicle. granted, the car would look nice with the optional 20" y-spokes, but you shouldn't have to slap 20's onto a car to make it visually interesting. the body style is quite similar to the current model, IMHO. happy with my ML.

New X5 was a terrible terrible dissapointment in the driving dynamics. I mean its a BMW, but it waned from side to side with not good center steering feel. It jumped over the bumps too much and it felt sluggish at times and the steering felt too weak and lexus like. The old X5 was the best, I feel they made the new x5 for space hungry consumers and made it too feminish in a way but masculine in other aspects. It felt like the engineers did not know what how to change the car. We went right to Mercedes, and loved the first test drive of the Ml350 and bought it. Wow, its night and day between the Mer Ml 350 and the new X5. I have owned an Infiniti QX4, Lexus RX300, and Lexus RX350, and the Mercedes ML350 knows how to handle the turn, brake, and accelerate with effortlessness. The X5 is a shame. Sad people buy BMW sometimes for driving dynamics and status name when the latest BMW suffer in their over techno intervention in steering and braking department.
