Fold out/in mirror problem..

I already took mine in and replaced the mirror housing myself, but I was wandering if anyone else out there with this option had any problems with their's. I noticed it the first time when I got in to drive off and the mirror glass was sighted in on my rear window. After that it would only fold out or in about halfway unless I physically pushed the mirror in or out accordingly. I'm pretty certain it was because I was trying to close the door when the mirror was folding out after unlocking the doors, which caused the fold out/in motor to internally strip the gears or something.

Anyone?

Opening/closing the doors while the mirrors are moving does not have any effect on mine, they work just fine. Could be some damage from replacing the housing or from what ever caused you to have to replace the housing. Pushing it in or out could certainly damage the mechanism and I do not think that you should even be able to manually move the mirror.

I wasn't manually moving the mirror, only assisting it when opening or closing so it wouldn't stop halfway.

So I guess I am the only one then..

Mine has never required any "assist" of any kind.

Mine did the same thing during very cold weather (frost/snow). I used to just leave it there and after a while the right side mirror fully folded out itself.

If your does that you have some sort of a problem. Mine has operated flawlessly even in temps down to 0 F.
