Sideview Mirror on ML500

Sideview Mirror on ML500
All....
I have had my 2006 ML 500 since Dec 05. I recently began to experience a problem with my side view mirror. Last night after parking my car on the street, I folded my passenger side view mirror in. When I returned to my vehicle and attempted to open the mirror, it wouldnt move back into position. Now there is a 1/4" space between the gasket and the housing of the mirror. I tried to push the mirror back into place, no luck. Can anyone offer any help on this subject?
