I meant experimenting in the sense that they're clueless about whats wrong and bit by bit they're changing small parts I would guess. What they should do is to change the entire wash/wipe system (all relays, rain sensor, wipermotors, wiper arm, wires etc etc) and ship the parts to Alabama for studies, especially because this is a very serious safety issue here.
They actually have replaced every component of my wiper/wash system...relays, rain sensor, moters, wiper arms...etc etc.

This is no way to treat customers and I guess they have used up all your patience by keeping your car for ages and not having fixed the problem, you're right to get a lawyer

Hey guys check if this is usefull. I took my car to its anual inspection here in Quito and the dumass mechanic put non working wipers on his report, when the engineer came out to check the problem he caught the guy popping the hoods of cars before he checked the wipers. Some cars disconect the wipers when you pop the hood. Have the hood sensor inspected cause it may be disconecting on its own. The wiper components may be fine and that is why manual and automatic shuts down.
