when can you put in your order for the ml550

We placed an order in February for an ML550 that was supposed to be built on 7/10. Unfortunately they screwed up and missed one of the components we wanted (Parktronics) and it is too late to add now. So ... we are at the back of the line again. The next car they have (that is still configurable) will build in first week of September for an October delivery. The first cars will hit showrooms in August sometime, if you're OK with something pre-configured.
Power ratings on ML550: 382 HP (vs 302 on ML500) and 391 ft/lb torque (vs 339 on ML500). No numbers yet on MPG or acceleration.
Huge lesson learned for us ==> If there is a specific configuration that you need, then make sure you sit down with the dealer with the final configuration printed from their order system at least 60 days prior to build date and go through EVERY component. Unfortunately we trusted the salesperson to get it right and check for us. He didn't and then he tried to get us to take what he had entered. We finally had to meet with the Sales Manager to straighten it out and make them realize that they messed up.
