ML320 CDI transmission problems
They have replaced numerous electronic modules for the transmission, plus other parts including oil pressure sensor etc. They have had MB technical support helping but the bottom line is they don't know what the problem is.
The dealership has been good about getting me a loaner and keeping me up to date.
Has anyone had similar problems?
Canada has no Lemon law but there is some precedence for buyback and my situation seems to qualify. Anyone had any experience in this area?
The dealership is still trying to isolate the cause however they have now replaced all electrical components related to transmission, fuel system, and as of yesterday, climate control. There is a suggestion that the car was either boosted improperly (polarity reversed) or struck by lightning. I have never boosted the car and the weather was fine the day the problem happened.
The dealership has been excellent but alas I am still without the vehicle. Mercedes Canada are now involved and they have also been quite responsive and good to deal with.
I am pursuing options to get the car replaced so we will see how that goes.
The problem started initially with out of the blue the car started to rev erratcially and the transmission wouldnt kick down. When I parked the car it would reset. No the car will not go above 2000 RPM when in D, you have to go up through the gears with the paddles to get above 2000 RPM and drive like a manual
