Need help

Hi,

Found this forum while searching for some answers. My mom has got an 07 ML350 with the PII package. Now, I cant seem to get the memory seats to work for her. They hold their memory (Change positions when holding 1 or 2) but they do not automatically move when unlocking the car with the keys. Is there a way to link/unlink the keys to a specific memory seat button, so when I enter the car the seat automatically moves.

Thanks

Dave

you have to physically push the memory 1,2,3 buttons to use the memory seat function. the keys i know only memorize the settings., so i think u can have 3 memory settings per key, for a total of six for both.

Wrong!! Another genius putting out incorrect information. There is no key recognition for seat positions in the ML.

Thanks. Do you know of any particular reason why MB doesn't do this?

I have the key thing in my 05 E but it was discontinued in later years. They say it was part of the quality improvement program but I do not buy it. In the ML it never had the key dependency. My 06 ML500 has the easy exit with the seat returning to the last setting but it is the same for either key. By the way in my E and others that have the key dependency the seat position with a key inserted has no bearing on the seat memory. Everything just returns to where it was when that key shut the car off last. Quite frankly I love the set up in my E and would have replaced it twice by now if the new ones had that. I am hoping that the 09's will have it back or, quite frankly I will look elsewhere. My wife and I both drive the E and its so convienient. I am the only ML driver so it matters not.

SOSH,

please extend "courtesy" to your fellow board members, theres no need to refer to me as a "genius" in this context.

if you know everything, its better for you to answer all posts without having to quote others.

Whoa easy buddy...no need to jump down the guy's throat. Correct him and post the information you think is right, but easy on the attitude.
