It would look good only on the beige interior ML's but I doubt it'd protect from spills/mud etc as well as the rubber/plastic trunk tray

Those cocmats are fully rubber bottomed. They'll protect better than a rubber or plastic tray; and they look 1000% better.

Oh, didn't know that...still weary about stains and dirt etc. getting stuck in it even if it does protect the floor....anyhow I don't have the beige/light interior so it wouldn't blend in so well

I enjoy my velvet mats, they add an exclusive look to the interior:

They come in a wide variety of colors and patterns, enough to match any interior color. See here:

Can you get standard rear cargo Mercedes mats for the new ML, we don't seem to have them in Australia.

Also, what was the mention about the plastic tray, we also don't get that as an option?!?

Living here in the NE, winter is a problem, the standard mats that come with the Maca. Interior are pretty dark, they show everything, even shoe prints on a nice dry day, and they will never stand up to wintertime slush etc. I have the rubber/plastic mats for my Grand Cher. And my wife’s BMW, but they look like the inside of a NYC taxi cab, not very pretty. The rear cargo area of the Maca. Color interior ML is just waiting to get dirty, back there you need something, and the rubber/plastic tray that MB sells only comes in black, (according to the parts Dept.) Not a good color. I was told the Coco mats won't stain, they are not absorbent, and they are treated with 303 protectant. I heard you can hose them off with a garden hose and not hurt them, I would love to see any interior mats that you other ML owners like also. I really use my SUV's, go skiing, throw boots and ski's in the back, tow a boat, and all of the gear, so I don't don't want to ruin the floors and cargo area. Any other interior mat ideas?? I would love to see them.

Retro or not, they work. Here are the ones I have in mine. I chose this color because they will hide all kinds and colors of soil.

Here's another option:

Weathertech makes a very nice tan colored plastic cargo area tray. See here:

They are cheaper than the MB branded one, and are very high quality; although I don't like their floor mats because they do look like taxi cab items.

Most of the time..i buy the nice mats through the dealer..but end up using the cheaper plastic ones (in black because my interiors are always dark gray or black) because in the winter..i get tons of snow, slush, dirt and rocks all in my car and normal matts cant stand up to it..i know its tacky but i would rather save my floor..those cheaper plastic mats i can get rid of in the spring and use the nice ones again..
