Flat-tow question:

Can the new W164 be flat-towed (all four tires on the ground) behind a motorhome without incurring any transmission problems?

Thank you...

In a word: "NO!"

See, especially, the third column of the attached.

Guess that answers the question for me. I know that you typically need to be able to put the transfer case in neutral, and most of the newer vehicles don't allow you to do that. I've seen a few ML's, both the newer and older generation being flat-towed, so I'm not sure how they are doing that, though they could be using a REMCO or simply pushing their luck.

Thanks for the information...
