HELP! Wifey is driving me crazy...

Per this description;

http://www.mbusa.com/pre-owned/2006/...nstrumentation

A little off topic, but I previously had a '04 E class. In that car I was able to make the main multifunction display automatically come up to display the speed and have the temperature displayed down in the secondary display. Now in my '07 ML the primary display automatically comes up the the odometer no matter what. I would much rather have the speed and temp displayed than the odometer. I realize it's easy to make the speed come up, but I wish I could do it automatically without having to hit a button. A little off topic I realize but maybe someone can point out some setting I'm missing???
