ML Part Question.

So I went to our local Mercedes Dealership to purchase a few aluminum/stainless items for my dad's ML350 for Christmas so I could install it before he got back from vacation as a surprise and to my surprise, the local MB parts guys are morons. I was hoping for some help.

I bought the stainless rear bumper sill trim to put over the bumper and that was not much of an issue but the issue arrived when I tried to order the lower stainless peice that covers the rear lower part of the rear bumper. This part is the big one that covers pretty much 50% of the rear bumper cover with the stainless finish and comes on the Edition 10 and ML 550's I beleive.

I had no problem ordering the large part itself, the bolts that hold it on but when it came to purchasing the small stainless part that covers the tow hook hole on the rear bumper, they said it does not exist? How is this possible? He told me to take the black rubber one on the bumper and put it there as mercedes does not have a part number for the small stainless one. I don't get it, what would happen if a car that came with those parts lost the small tow hook cover in the back? Could you not replace it? Is Mercedes that stupid or do I have a special parts department that I am dealing with?

ANy help would be appreciated. A part number would be amazing.

Thanks.

Raymond

Hey bud,

Part number for the loading sill is

A 164 880 01 11

I have done a complete HOW-TO article on how to install that and the rear stainless lower piece and will be posted shortly. It is very useful as it shows how to take the ML's rear bumper cover off

Thanks
