Front License plate for ML350

Just got a fix-it ticket here in CA. What screws should I use to attach the front license plate bracket? How long should they be?

Doesn't the dealership take care of that for you when the plates come in.

I have to get my front and back plates put on tomorrow.

Getting screws from dealer

Unfortunately there were no screws with the frame. I did not want the front plate on until I got the ticket. The dealer Fletcher Jones is not conveniently located to where I live. I emailed my sales guy and he had someone Fed Ex me the screws, so some kudos to him for quick response.

just take it to any local mb dealer and ask them to put it on.

almost all of them won't mind since whoever puts it on will just put their dealer's license plate frame on it.

they will think its free advertising and worth the 10 mins it will take to put on.

after they put it on, if you don't like the frame, just remove it.

another plus is, if the dealer for some reason screws up on the drilling, they will take care of it.

if you mess up on the drilling, well you're either going to pay for it yourself or jsut leave it.

just my 2 cents.

Attached front plate without drilling holes

I could not bring myself to drill 2 holes in the front bumper. Instead I drilled a hole through the top of the stock license plate bracket. The top of the license plate bracket is in front of the lower mesh grill. I put a screw through the hole in the frame which then goes through the mesh grille and used some spacers, washers, and a screw to fasten it to the mesh grille.

Should I post pics of this install?
