GL550 grille on a ML?
I this might be crazy to some people, but I like the look of the bold front grille and bumper on the GL550 (see attached photo).
Does anyone know if this will fit my 2006 W164 ML350.
I realise that both the grille and bumper would be required, but im not sure if the hood of the GL is different to the ML where it meets the headlights and the grille.

Good question! I haven't tried it, nor have I seen it done just yet, but if it were possiable it would require getting a full front clip though, meaning both front fenders, hood, and bumper. Looking at the ML and GL side by side, they really are very similar, but it could be off a matter of inches and that would throw everything off.

I doubt it....
The fit would have to be identical which I doubt it is. Besides, I think the ML front end with the skid plates looks waaaay better. If you don't have the skid plates it makes a big difference, maybe just add skids, just a thought. Or, look at some custom grills, it would be a lot less expensive.

it might be cheaper for you to take a picture of the 550's front and show it to a bodyshop who does custom work. maybe they can fab something similar to your liking.
or you can just purchase a gl550

It was really only an option if it was just a grille and bumper required, and it was bolt on and off. That would have kept the cost reasonable.
Cutting the guards etc is too much effort (cost)
I also like the brabus grille which removes the star, but have not seen them for easy sale.
I was hoping someone would start making them and sell something on ebay.
