MHI Bluetooth Interface Module quesiton

is there a difference between the MHI Bluetooth Interface Module and The Mercedes-Benz Telephone Module with Bluetooth® (SAP-Profile)?

Yes...I believe there is a difference. If you want a lot of detailed info, trying scanning the following thread (there are others also):

Essentially though, the SAP profile means that the module actually takes over as your phone, by getting your SIM info. The MHI is just an interface, where the phone does all of the work. For the SAP, the module does all of the work, including acting as the antenna (using your cars antenna), etc...

I don't believe that there is an SAP module available in the US, however (not sure if you are or not). The SAP module is only capable of broadcasting in the MHZ frequency range used in Europe.

MHI BLuetooth Prices

Does any one know what the true price is for this part is? In my limited knowledge dealerships are charging ~$300 at the time of purchase of a new vehicle vs $500 for it of their shelves. Anyone got it any cheaper off the shelf?
