Mhi Bluetooth part #'s whats the difference between

B6 787 5839 and B6 787 5878?

i tried calling the dealership and they don't know.

i searched and the only thing i can find is it was updated to support more of the pda/smartphones. i have a sprint htc touch and i can get a deal on the older one.

but before i purchase, i want to know was that the only update? or was there something else? anyone know?

the following webpage has info for you to review to answer your question:
http://www.whnet.com/4x4/phones.html

Wolfgangs ML Page is a great source for many details, and very accurate;

In a nut shell here is the info posted there:
B6 787 5839 / B6 787 5878
The MHI Bluetooth Interface Module: BT HFP MHI adapter
part number B6 787 5839 plugs into the preinstalled MHI connector in the Mercedes. The module supports the Bluetooth handsfree profile (HFP) and also downloads the phonebook, using Motorola BT AT commands, if supported by the phone. The MHI Bluetooth Interface Module costs about $400 from AWS and does not support the Bluetooth SIM access profile (SAP). Some compatible phones are listed below. Lateron in May 2007 an updated version B6 787 5878 became available addressing some of the problems reported with the earlier one.
Motorola
V60s CDMA - Verizon
V710 CDMA - Verizon
E815 CDMA - Verizon

thanks again

after reading every related post to that link... it seems the only problem people discussed is the small comptability issue with the first one, and the newer one being able to work with more phones.
