Need Advice 2002 ML 320

Hi Everyone......I just bought a used ML 320. My first MB and love it so far. Any advice as to properly maintaining it or any consistent issues for my model and year. Also, the screen says Navigation System not installed. It has the CD drive that opens up. How do I get a navigation system installed and is it costly. I have a portable Tom Tom that works well already.
Thanks

ML320CDI 2008 all options inc air suspension
I had the same truck and had good luck with mine. If you have the manuals do a bit of browsing. you didn't mention the mileage but some things like changing brake fluid and antifreeze need to be done every couple of years. They say that tranny is lifetime without service but i changed my tranny oil and filter at around 40k miles and the filter was well on its way out and the oil was looking tired. If your doing your own work drop the oil out of the axles and transfer case. The cabin air filter needs to be done once in awhile as well and I had the dealer do that.If youre not sure about the service records on it, there are lots of things to be lubed from time to time like your sunroof, door hinges etc and its always good to touch up door weatherstripping with silicone spray once in awhile as well. As you see the list grows over time and perhaps a good run through at a dealer would be a good start if its past a certain point. A dozen new spark plugs at 100 k miles and a new acces belt in the same range

I've had my 2002 ML320 since it was new, it now has 116k and is going strong. Aside from the notorious D pillar coverings (finish peeling, falling off) the only other issue I have ever had was with tire vibration. After replacing my second set of Dunlops, for some reason I wasn't smart enough to try something else when the originals were replaced, with Michelin Latitudes the ride is amazingly smooth. Minor issues were all taken care of under warranty and since then have had no problems. Hope your experience is as good as mine has been.
