Choice of Tires?
OK, it is getting to that time where I need to replace my 19" OEM Continental Conti 4X4 tires. I feel that I have been lucky compared to others getting 26000 miles out of them so far, with a little bit left. Will consider them again as they worked fine, but curious if there is a better option.
I see that a good replacement is the 19" Michelin Latitude Tour HP. Anyone has them on their ML? If so, what was it like in winter? On the highway? Any suggestions as to another brand?
Welcome any advise.

My 17" Contis went 30K miles and performed very well. With hopes for longer life, I switched to the Michelin Latitudes. Fuel mileage immediately dropped by 1-2 mpg. They also seem to be a bit softer in ride and handling than the Contis.
Since they only have 7K miles on them at present, I can't speak to the life. If it turns out to be about the same as the Contis, I'll switch back to Contis when these wear out. I prefer the ride and the fuel consumption of the Contis.

I have the Michelin's and they were great in both winter and summer driving, good wet performance too; i thought they wore a little quick, 45,000 km - but I guess that the price you pay for a good all-season;
I just purchased a second set - I was pretty happy with them as the OEM, and hence the exact same tire I used to replace them about 2 weeks ago;
They do get to be a noisy tire when they are at end of life - which is good if you like the reminder to replace them!

I replaced my stock Conti's at about 18,000 miles, which I found to be rough with poor wet weather performance, with Bridgestone Dueler H/L Alenza's. I've been very happy so far. I have noticed a little extra droning noise at certain speeds, but the ride, handling, and wet weather performance have been much better than the Conti's ever were.

Conti's win!!
Thanks to all who chimed in. After looking at all the choices, I replaced with the factory Continentals. They worked just fine, summer or winter.
Also, they were on sale, and I received a free GPS with my order.
I guess I can be bought!!

My '08 320 CDI came with Continentals, and my salesman had them switched with another ML that had Michelin Latitude's. I've never had good experience with Continental tires, so they were a deal breaker for me. The Latidudes are quiet, and handle very well. Also good in rain, and when I had them on my '05 ML500, they were good in snow, as well.
