power taligate owners... when it latches on the close

power taligate owners... when it latches on the close
which of the following does it do?
1. soft 2 step close
2. hard close
3. or a mix of both?
i seem to have #3. there are times where the car will do a soft close via the 2 step closing, then other times it just slams shut with no motion.
dealer has already updated the software, and has replaced the latch.
so i'm looking to see what other owners are experiencing.

Always a hard close from day one. Hard for lack of better term, for sure it's not a soft 2-step. It just closes at the same speed it's coming down, and it's not coming down fast. I usually try to open a door and let the air escape trough it, otherwise it closes ok, but it adds the mechanical noises of the latching (I suppose). Perhaps this is what you call the 2-step ?
