Question On Wheel Fitment
Hey,
Just wondering I got the 19" sport package on my ML320. I wanted to know are they staggard fitment or just normal. Becuase I am planning on geting some wheels for it in the spring.

LOL! I can't even find my space; that's funny. In any case, the ML is not staggered - not same for MB cars though, 4-matic or not. BMW for example has a staggered setup on some version of the X5. It's just MB's design preference for the M-Klass. On other forums, people more knowledgeable than me state that a staggered ML will eventually destroy the rear diff. So if you plan to do it ask a lot of questions first.

as long as you have the rolling diameter the same, then you should have no problem.
you can also "cheat" the staggered look if you are willing to go the custom route ie forged wheels. in the back due to the caliper not being as big, you are able to request a larger lip making the illusion that you have different width rims when all thats changed is the offset of the rear rim

Correction: Staggered rims are an option for non-amg MLs outside the USA, check out the mercedes-amg website, as do mb's wheel configurator (non-amg), there you will see that the ML can be equipped with wider rear tires.

Interesting, I'll have to check that. However, I think that staggered as we use it here needs to be defined. I agree with vinceching - as long as you keep the overall diameter (wheel and tire combined) same there should be no problems. Note that rim width can be different F&R! However, if the diameters aren't same (and that's my definition for stagger) there could be some issues. Thus, you can have different rim diameters and then make up for overall diameter with proper tire size selection. I have never done it on my ML but have done it on my Z (different animal, but similar approach) - tire sizing is critical.
