Comand backup camera input
I want to retrofit a backup camera to my car, so I bought a camera ready ML COMAND for my car (with a stick said "warning:check entire surrounding while backing"). After install, its screen turns black. I thought I just need to input the video signal to make it work, was told the video input is the pin 1&7 on the back. I got a Kenwood ccd2000 camera, but its NTSC output signal doesn't seam to work, also try a camera outs the PAL video signal, still not working ... now I am confused, does it need some other module to make it work? Has anyone done this before?

The comand was taken off from a ML exported to EU, that has the B/U camera. I thought the B/U function has been enabled on it, that is why it turns black in reverse ... just missing the video input?

Once I got it to work, the hard part is the install, pulling the rear door panel off, drill holes, and wire to the front. I have a R, so it doesn't fit the ML forum here.

Since my COMAND is already B/U enabled, so no dealer program needed. The function works just connect the camera output cable (RCA) to those pins on the back
I put the camera next to the door opener handle.

Our COMANDs take NTSC format.
I have a old car radio that has RCA cables input, it is RCA female at one end and PIN connector on the other end. I just cut off one of these RCA cable for my use. The PIN goes into the black connector(a white connector next to it), 1&7 PINs are clearly marked. There is not female PIN inside, so you would need to get two small female PINS if you have them. The black connector locks those PINs done in place. Dealers may not selling those, but any small size PIN that fits will do. To make sure you got good connection, measure the resistance between the +/- of the RCA, and it shall be around 75 ohms. When test it with your camera, dont panic like me when I see no picture, I have to use the power source from the car to get picture.
Good luck, it should just work, like I have been told before too.
