Buying CPO ML350- 2007 or 2008?
A good friend of mine is looking to buy a CPO ML 350 and is looking at 2007 and 2008 models. Generally, the prices for 07's v. 08's seem to be pretty comparable (at least there doesn't seem to be a huge discount for buying 2007 anyway). Are there any other factors that would lead you to suggest one over the other?
To give you some background: she has leased cars in the past but realized that with the high mileage she puts on her cars (20k+ miles per year) it just didn't make sense so wants a relatively low mileage (under 15-20k miles) CPO ML350 with at least P1/Navi.

The CPO is really pretty much a joke. You get 1 extra year of coverage or 50K miles up to 100K. I just bought an 07 ML350 with 39K miles and 18 months left on the factory 4 years (from inservice date) or 50K, 50K miles will come first.
Before I go out of warranty, I will buy an extended warranty. For one that is something like 4-5 years and up to 100K miles, I was just quoted $3100 with a $50 deductible, and this is the top of the line warranty....there are others for less. I am going with a reputable guy that I know of forums for a long time now, he helps a lot of people out with buying used cars and selling warranties.
I got my no CPO car for $25.4K. It's in new shape. For $3K extra I get the warranty. Or I could of gotten the warranty at the stealer (CPO) on the same car.....for about the low 30's.....they wouldn't even quote me exact prices for ML's, just the range. Personally, I would rather stay away from the stealer.
My $0.02
