2008 ML320 CDI Pricing Help
I am in the market for a ML320 CDI and I found a CPO vehicle in the area asking $44k. This seems kind of high. I offered $37k over the phone but he said he doesn't have that kind of margin. What is a reason price for these vehicles?
The vehicle is a 2008, has about 11k miles, has premium package, heated seats, navigation, running boards, so quite well loaded.
I have yet to talk the the dealer in person.
The dealer said over the phone that a ML350 goes for less. How much of an different experience is a ML350 compared to the ML320 CDI? Obviously I like the high torque and fuel economy of the ML320, but how are the real world acceleration and fuel economy different? I understand that the ML320 CDI can easily average 25mpg.
Looking at the spec sheet, the ML320 CDI doesnt' look too impressive with a 0-60 of 8sec and trapping the 1/4 mi at around 84mph. Is real world driving more impressive? I guess I have to test drive it to find out.
Thanks.

The ML 320 CDI is sold at a higher price in the whole world. That is especially due to the low consumption compared with the ML 350.
I have one, ML 320 CDI and has been fantastic until now, about 90 thousand km done, November 2006, perfect. The car is fine in acceleration, I had the chance to "race" with ML 350 on the stop-light, I believe the 500 NM of the 320 CDI are used better and give more advantage and you get closer and faster to your real 225 hp with this engine.
You just need a good quality fuel - be careful, in USA diesel is still not common to all and everywhere and it is more possible that you get bad diesel there, dirty, or old in the distributors. Many people complaint about that. In Europe diesel is like every day bread, used more and thus fresh and better....![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I attached a foto of my real consumption after an easy drive mode...with 320 CDI (1 km = 0.62 miles)
So I did with 2.4 gallons/62 miles or 25.8 mpg after 5 hours trip - sorry for different metrics we use in Europe

Thanks for the feedback, the CDI seems like an impressive vehicle.

I bought my ML 320 CDI, new, 82000 Eu/113000$ in Greece. I can not believe you can buy this car, even if it is used, for 26500 Eu/37000$ there! Is sounds great! Lucky you that have those prices there in the USA...:-)
