I find the steering and general lateral handling on my 08 ML350 a little to touchy...a little to twitchy. I'm coming of an SRT8 Jeep and XC90 and the steering both were far better. The truck feels too too heavy too. Any suspension things we can do about this???

The steering feel is likely to be tire and tire pressure related. What sort of tires are you running and at what pressures?? Re the heavy feel, Airmatic would be the only thing that I would think could improve the ride and its really not retrofittable. There are some guys that have lowered and put aftermarket shocks and springs on but my take is that will create a harsher ride, not lighten it up. Again, tires and tire pressures may be the issue. I am on my 4th ML and second W164 and I have never experienced what you describe. Always rock solid steering and a very good ride (Airmatic).

If all else fails take it to an alignment shop and have the toe set a little closer to the out tolerance.

There is probably nothing wrong. The SRT8 has very direct and heavyish steering so you will definitely notice the ML feeling lighter. (I haven't driven the Volvo so I can't comment on it, but my old Volvo 100 years ago had quite heavy steering.) Also, the Jeep has 20-inch wheels with tires that are a yard wide, so its road feel is bound to be heavier. I also find the ML steering to be a tad over-boosted; I think that is where the 'twitchy' feeling comes from, rather than any inherent defect in the steering itself.
