I'm looking into the new Nav DVD and was wondering if anyone new for sure if only updated roads and POIs or if it changed the look too to the Nav I've seen on the 2010 loaners....anyone?

Who knows..l picked up my 2010 M-Class last October, on the 7th and Navteq came out with an update at the same time...l don't really know if l have this update....it could help out the 09 and 08 guys.....

C Rod my dealer claims that my ML550 has the latest version nav. I took delivery on Oct 1st as you may recall. For the record not one glitch so far. Looking good!! I also took delivery of a new W212 E Class last Sat and that also seems to be perfect.

Im sure it will work great, thats not the question. M/B offers a 2009 update DVD for older vehicles....my 08 was built in 07 and has the original DVD. I know the look on the 2010s is much nicer and wanted to know if the new disc delivers the new look or just changes in streets and POIs.

the dvd has the maps only. for an updated interface, you need updated firmware. this is generally speaking -- i do not know if that is even an option for us

on your new E-Class..a really "stunner"...l will enjoy taking a closer look at it next week in Detriot for the auto show....As for the nav issue, l was a little disappointed with a major highway addition in the Hamilton/Burlington area that has been finished for the last 2 years, and it still wasn't on the DVD ?????? I understand that a DVD only holds about 8g of memory, but with a 40g hard drive, l expected more !!!!!!

Have not yet seen that with the new ML or the new E but I do not doubt it. I think the issue is not so much MB but Navtech who provides the mapping. I did experience it with my 06 ML and my 05 E. Near our beach house there is a 10 year old by pass of Atlantic City that includes a tunnel under the bay. It never appeared on the Navs and showed you driving thru the water!! Yes the new E class seems so far excellent but its only been a week. If its as good in the long haul as my prior 05 and prior 01 were I will be quite pleased. Its a very very nice driving car but I am a bit dissapointed that the key recognition and easy exit seat movement were decontented.

Dealership 249.00 but with a "parts boutique" coupon for 15% off....214.00 out the door.

Once I loaded it, it took several minuted loading an interface and updates and took a while to initialize but worked perfect after that. Already observed some newer streets in my area that were not on the previous version. Worth it to me....

No I have not ordered from them but they produce the nav CD for Benz. I used the info here to make sure I have the latest nav cd. When they have a new version I will be ordering it from them.

New look involves new head. As you may know, the Comand heads on ML 2009+ are totally different with their counterparts from MY 2008 and predecessors. They may have the similar look but internal components are different. The new Comands are NTG 2.5s.

If you ever tried a Navtech portable GPS, you'll see the differences. Even the cheap portables with Navtech technos are far more sophisticate than the ones we got on our MBs, more options like speed limit on all streets, shortest road, quickest road, local road......., and newer updates.
I think the problem is how much MB wants to pay for Navtech softwares.

just eject the disc and check it...it is printed on the DVD...probably the 2007 if you have not purchased the new DVD yourself. The updated interface comes on the new DVD and will load automatically upon first installation.

According to his profile REITdude has a 2010 ML350 so there is no disc in the Nav. Its hard drive based. Your advice is OK for those with earlier ML's that have a DVD or CD based nav.
