not sure about the 2010 but for the 2007, it runs off a DVD so you can order it from the dealership but it's probably not worth it. the DVD only upgrades certain roads in certain areas of the United States.

Are you telling me that there is no fancy, amazing worthwhile update from 2006 the release year to 2010 going on 2011 for the ML Navigation system? It certainly wouldn't be worth just a few street updates.
My s550 has a significant update from 2007 to 2010.

To upgrade, I think the best way is to swap the trucks, since their head units looked similar, they are quite difterent. The 2010 MLs use NTG 2.5 with different connectors and fiberoptic loop layout.
To update the navi software, you can check with your dealer/ or Navteq which make the DVDs at $250.00 for 2010 version, although some of this forum members said the new version is not good as expected.

I bought the 2010 DVD and have used it throughout the midwest....I have nothing to really guage it against, but found it dead on accurate everywhere....better than my recently updated Magellan 4050....
Sold the old CD on eBay for 50 bucks...offset the new one to 199.00

That is important to me, to see if the update is worth it and if there are any functional or graphic changes that will come with the newer CD. If it's just a few additional maps, then it's probably not worth it.

Any model yr pre 09 has a different head unit but updates are available for you directly from the navteq site...I only update every 2 or 3 yrs to make it worthwhile and to let them build in enough changes to make it noticeable...for you it will no doubt be worth it after 4 yrs...one note...the latest version will likely be out in a few months as the 2010 version was released last Oct.Same looking/acting interface, just more updated mapping

The graphics did not change nor did the voice or anything else...just more updated mapping as far as I can tell....It did update software versions when the new disc was first installed. It does not look anything like the model years 09-10 versions.

2010 ML350 Side mirror indicator lamp
So, my 2010 ML350 Bluetec... had to replace both tail lights as they are LED and don't have bulbs... now i have a problem with the driver side indicator lamp on the mirror... replaced it with a new one from the dealer.. didn't fix the problem... apparently i have to replace the whole mirror unit?.... any one have a fix?....

If it works by just inserting the dvd that means you don't have the NTG 2.5 with hard disk for storage, or you bought the wrong dvd and need the correct one that is installed, not just inserted. you need to find out which model Command you have.
