Build like a tank..gotta love a Benz
My wife was rearended yesterday on her way home from work. Traffic stopped but not the guy behined her. The skid plate deflected the impact down. The mufflers are pushed almost to the tires but the rear of the car looks suprisingly good.
The Dodge Status didn't fair so well.

Too much damage in comparison. The damage to the Dodge bumper cover is much wider than the contact area of the Benz. To damage the hood like that, the Dodge would have to have been under the Benz. When the Dodge nose dipped down with that much force, the Benz would have received more that a few dings in the muffler tips. There is no damage to the Benz above the stainless shield. There is no paint transfer or damage to/on the Benz to match the hood damage to the Dodge.
Plus, the Dodge is in San Antonio and your tow truck is from Houston....that's quite a commute.
Love the pics tho.
Post a pic of the Crash Report if you want to call me out...just dont blur the city and report number, I will get a copy.
Sincerely, glad everyone is OK.

I will post more pics when I get home this evening. I have no clue where the tow truck is registered but that picture was taken sitting in front of my house and I live in San Antonio. The wreck was on 410 between Broadway and Nacogdoches Friday the 6th around 5pm.

The ML was literally on top of the Dodge. My wife just drove it off and parked on the shoulder. You can see the initial impact was against the skid plate, which drove the Dodge down and under the ML.

Wardsweb,
I apologize.
I should have asked for additional photos prior to my first post. The new photos depict the more extensive undercarriage damage that was not as easily detected in the first photo.
The Dodge photo was of lesser quality and with the different setting plus the weather compared to the weather in the Benz photo, I assumed a "fast one" was in the works.
The additional photos and story support the crash.
I am glad the wife is fine and appreciate your follow-up.
My profession( )has caused me to believe no one until there is conclusive evidence to prove otherwise. I am not ashamed to call BS when it appears to be flowing, but I should have been more tactful.
Good luck on the repairs.
I apologize.

traffic on 410 is horrible. the construction that has been going on for the past 10 years sure doesn't help either. glad to see that your wife made it home okay.

Not to hijack thread, but here are two pics of a 70mph head-on collision with a Dodge 4x4 Extended cab. All 4 passangers (two adults + 1yr old & 4 year old) walked away startled and bruised, but otherwise unharmed.

Really...??? You were just telling me few days ago how good your new (F10) BMW 535i is performing...!!
That's why I still keep my solid-rock ML350 even I'd just purchased another new babe, the Bimmer 335i coupe. The W164 is one of the BEST M.Benz I've ever owned in my life.

Both cars are very nice and worthy to own IMHO.
