roof bike rack fyi

hi everyone, just put on a roof 2 bike rack on a 08 ml350
hope this helps

thule crossroad 450 with 50 inch wide load bars
thule fairing ( A MUST ) 44 inch (not so sure, check fit guide/sorry)
yakima sprocket rocket

thule recommends the 58 inch load bars but i prefer a narrower bar so i went with the the 50, be aware of the pics as the roof rails are not parallel, front is wider than the rear as photo shows,

regarding wind noise, with only the bars without fairing noise is very significant at 40mph and over, ridiculous howling, but with fairing no noise at all, huge difference (fairing is a must) from my experience i could not tell a naked roof from one with a rack

hope this post helps
