So far I have changed my Left Front Park lamp, Left Brake Lamp and Left Reverse Lamp twice already. Always left side. Dealer parts guy says he sees this quite a bit. Need a wholesale store to stock up on bulbs.
FYI, the older E320's used to eat headlight bulbs like candy.

See if you can dig up the list of Factory Service Bulletins somehow. I just poured through the service records with the dealer for our new (used) 2006 ML350 and I remember him telling me about a Service Bulletin they did to rewire the rear lamps because of complaints that they were blowing bulbs too frequently. Unfortunately, I'm just getting onboard with MB, this being my first, so I haven't figured out where to get service related information other than the outrageously expensive startek info subscriptions. So I can't recommend where to get more detail.
When I was researching the ML350, Edmunds had a list of service bulletins for my model year with a short summary and I remember seeing the rear lamp re-wire SB and thinking "oh, this must have been what the dealer was refering to" .
If you are still covered under warranty call the dealer...it is probably a free fix for you. Otherwise, perhaps someone else can provide info on where to get the service bulletins.
