Power steering pump

My wife's 06 ML350 needs at least a new PS reservoir- most likely a new pump-I have to define the leak.

Done a lot of work on a lot of cars- I am new to MB. What do you call those bolts they use. What kind of socket or MB specific socket do you need?

I can't figure out how to get those MB bolts out..

Worse than chasing down the 8mm hex I needed to do the brakes.

Thanks

the reservoir is held by "torx" screws/bolts.

once you loosen the bolts, you still cant remove the reservoir, you need to pry the thick metal circlip that encircles the reservoir neck going to the pump.

that is where the leak usually is, there is an o-ring where the reservoir neck meets the ps pump. its like a $1 part.

im not sure if we have the same problem, but this seems to be fairly common on early W164 models.
