2011 ML350 Nav Problems
I had thrown the Garmin Zumo660 from my Harley Trike in the glove box and used it all the way up and back when i lost coverage, it was flawless...and i would have been screwed without it as a back up..all i have on the MB units is a nice track of blue dots to show me there is a road there ....also satellite radio doesnt work in the north much past Whitehorse...
Prior to leaving on the trip I Googled the destination so I have an idea of the route.
I drove 2/3 of the way before I activate the Nav to enter my destination and then let the Nav takes me the rest of the way.
I'm rather pleased with the fact that along the way it shows all the gas stations and even indicate those that sell Diesel! This is a very useful feature which my 2010 BMW 335d's Nav doesn't have!
However the BMW's iDrive is a better set up than the M-B as it lets me zoom in~out on the maps in a split second so I can have an over view of the route and I can make decisions to either follow the routing or take alternate routes in case the Nav tries to take me on a longer route.
The M-B's Nav needs me to press a button on the dash to activate the zooming feature and then I have to press the button several times to get to the desired magnification. This is too many steps and slow but at least I can get then same results.
BMW's NAV also allows me to search out my destinations/POIs and send them to the NAV via BMW Assist. This is a great feature which I hope M-B can incorporate in the future.
Cheers.
PS: Did anyone try to get the Service Manual for their car? I hit a wall, and I would like to know if there is any way to succeed!
