2006 ML500 Airmatic

Hi,

I am the happy owner of a 2006 ML500 with airmatic. 70.000 miles.

I am however having some problems with the airmatic. Only in at the left front wheel.

Sometimes - not always - I can hear the air leaking from somewhere, and the car will sink.
I could understand if it was always, then it would most likely be the "air spring" - but sometimes it is hard, and sometimes it is as if there is no air in it..

What can be wrong? (and cost)

Thanks in advance.

Thanks

Seems to me that you do have a leak. Its either is a fitting on the air line or the front left shock itself. Have a dealer or shop that is familiar with the system check it out. If you let it go the compressor will run excessivly and burn out the compressor.

Ever find out what was wrong?

I have been having the same issue for the last few weeks but haven't found out what is wrong yet. Did you ever find what it was? Mine is the front left as well. After the car is turned off it will drop in the front left. What is weird is that it doesn't drop if its set to conf mode. Only drops if in sport or normal mode. Any thoughts?

Hi,

It was the airspring.. first in the left side, then in the right a few months later.. and last week the compressor was exchanged... :-(
