I can't tell you how frustrated I am to have changed a really self explanatory headlight bulb and the error message still appears and the lights still don't work.

Is this MB's way of keeping us slaves to the stealership?

How hard could it be to change the bulb?

Don't know about front, but I had the same thing happen to my R500 on the rear. It ended up being a faulty wiring harness. The dealer replaced for free since there had been a TSB on this subject. The only other thing I can say is, make certain that the bulb is in the correct position, check the contacts (visually if able).

My 2006 ML use to have a warning on the dash that the left bulb had blown, when in fact is was the right!

If it is a factory xenon setup, it may be the ballast and not the bulb....?

Twist the little metal clip that holds the bulb in.....counterclockwise, careful though, it is very specific in which way is up, it looks universal, but its not.
