Part Number ?
After 3 years, one of the interior part gets so STICKY and I feel really disgusting when I need to swtich the headlights. My car is still under warranty, do you guys think they can replace it for free...?? If not, where can I buy this part ? Thanks...!!
P.S. Not the switch itself, it's the panel surrounded it.

if you dont want to spend $$$ for a replacement switch, use rubbing alcohol to remove the sticky residue, just be patient. this technique also works with sticky steering buttons, itll remove the sticky film and reveal a smooth new looking plastic underneath.

No can do....!!
Just used the rubbing alcohol and it did not help. What's worst is that the surface after wiping with cloth, it became rough and scratched....!!

Got the same problem on my 06 e55. Keen to find a solution without replacing the entire light switch panel...

let me stress out "patience" in using rubbing alcohol with a lint-free cloth.
you have to remove all the sticky residue to reveal a smooth plastic surface. the melted surface is actually some sort of a rubberized clearcoat that has degenerated over time. just be careful over the edges.
i did this both on my headlamp switch surrounds and steering wheel buttons. saved me $$$$$.
it does feel and seem to worsen at first application, but believe me, persist and you will succeed.....

Went to the dealer for oil service and left my car over night cause they are brushing the swtich panel surface with a special OEM detergent from M.Benz which is made in Germany. ( I saw the bottle )
They told me that replacing the switch panel under warranty is no longer available. But rather a free service of using that special detergent to clean (they said) " the leather-coating ". Anyway, will pick up my truck tomorrow and see how it turns out.

Just picked up my truck today and the light switch panel was " smooth as silk ". They did a great job of cleaning that coating and thanks to Bruno too. He's right about it. " Patience "is all that matter when working on it.
