Grill removal - 08' ML320

Has anyone removed the grill on one of these vehicles?I know there are the 2 push pins on top and the bolts on both sides. My concern is with the 3 "clips" on the bottom section of the grill.Do they just pop-off or is there something else I should be aware of? I am removing my sivler grille in order to paint it.Thanx in advance !

It's actually the hardest part of the removal. They clip onto the bumper really tight. The center one is easy, it's the ones on the sides that gave me a hard time.

It took two of us to remove them. I was holding the clip, and my friend was popping them off carefully with a screw driver. Once he un-clipped them from the bumper, I removed them before they snapped back onto the bumper.

Take your time and be patient. You also need small hands & skinny arms to get in :-).

What color are you painting it? I have the black standard grill I removed from our ML350. Let me know if you want it.

Good luck.

YasS , thanx for the reply.I ended up painting it on the vehicle.I took about 1 hour to carefully mask off everything and painted it.It turned out "ok" but I know where the flaws are.I'll send you a PM about the grill! Thanx for the response !
