Mirrors on ML550

Is there a way to keep the mirrors from retracting on ML550 when it is locked? I like the feature, but if/when I might have to park outside overnight and there would be ice or heavy frost on them, I am worried that they will break when trying to go back into driving position.

First off they will not break with snow or frost on them when folding or unfolding. Second you can disable the auto fold thru the menu on the drivers screen and I believe you will find it under vehicle or convienience items. Never have disabled mine either on my 06 ML500or my 2010 ML550 and I have never had an issue.

ditto. I have mine disabled just as you've indicated. I just press the "fold" button on the door if/when I decide I want them retracted.
