2008 ML 320 CDI Air Filter
Hello Everyone,
I want to replace Air Filters on my 2008 ML 320, It's very difficult to take air filters cover off, ( No room to get to the covers screws). This is the 1st time for me to work on ML. I would like to ask you guys if someone knows the procedures to replace air filters.
thanks.

Had mine done about 2 months ago.I watched as the mechanic removed the weatherstrip seal from the top of the firewall and removed 2 - one from each side - pieces of the firewall before he could remove them.

Overall it's not a bad job. Best to download the procedure from StarTek info.
In a nutshell, you remove the firewall segments, then remove both air boxes as an assembly from the engine. Replace the air filters inside the boxes, and reinstall everything in reverse. There is a left and right, but the design makes it impossible to mix that up. Also, pay attention to the electrical connectors to avoid damage. I'm sure other cars you have done in the past allowed the air box to stay in the engine bay and you slipped the filter out by unsnapping a cover. The ML Diesel requires the entire thing to be removed.
FYI, I usually change the fuel filter at the same time, as the access is there with the air box and ducting removed.

Thanks guys for your help. I am trying to find a MB service Manual for my 2008 ML. ( www.mercedesmanuals.com ), they only go up to 2007 model. I tried to download it from Star Tek, no luck with them either. ( Star Tek does not accept Canadian credit cards). I asked my local MB dealer, they are the worst. The dealer dosn't know anything about this Service Manual.
